They knew that it would give us a chance

   I was all alone. But there was a little baby about three months‘ old in our train which its mother had put in a carrycot with a few bottles of milk and a few nappies, and was also travelling to England alone. I thought it was so courageous of a woman to be sending her child to safety. It was hard enough for our mothers and fathers who had no idea if they would ever see us again. But they knew that it would maybe give us a chance. The Kindertransport saved us all, didn’t it? Thousands of us!
